About Us

The Copacabana Rural Fire Brigade was formed in 1962. The Brigades first station was a signal tanker bay which later underwent extensions to create a second vehicle bay and office. The Brigade occupied this station until June 2009, when it moved into its new building on the beach front at Copacabana. The Brigade had no option other than to relocate, as the old station was built on a stormwater easement. The new station is currently home to a Category 1 tanker, Category 9 striker and a Category 10 pumper.

We have gone green!

With thanks to a grant from the NSW Government, our station is now fully powered by renewable energy from the sun.

This 18kW solar and 44kWh battery system will power our station indefinitely when Copa loses power which will allow us to continue to serve the community during any emergency or disaster.

Thank you Superior Solar for the design and install.
